Design of Anomalous Reflectors by Phase Gradient Unit Cell-Based Digitally Coded Metasurface

In this letter, we propose the designs of 1-bit and 2-bit digitally coded metasurfaces, which achieve anomalous reflection-based beam steering. First, demonstrate systematic design flow metasurface using phase gradient digital unit cells to reflection in preferred direction for a normally incident plane wave. Initially, procedure is analytically implemented get profiles metasurfaces having equal sizes $10\lambda _{0} \times 10\lambda _{0}$ (where notation="LaTeX">$\lambda free space wavelength at 5.9 GHz) specific angle, notation="LaTeX">$(\theta _{r}=30^\circ,\phi _{r}=0^\circ)$ , subsequently, far-field plots are generated. Furthermore, these used generate 3-D-CAD models CST, desired patterns obtained half-power beamwidth notation="LaTeX">$5^\circ$ . It observed that produces additional side-lobe levels, minimized by use coding. Finally, proposed fabricated, anomalously reflected detected received power angle comparing results with perfect electric conductor. The suitable vehicle anything communications can be scaled other frequencies.
